So glad to have finally had a night away as I love getting away with my better half, even if it is only for one night! With busy work schedules etc. we can sometimes go a whole week without seeing each other (even though we live in the same house!) so our time together is always precious 🙂
We booked this night away on a dark and dreary night in January. Norwich is somewhere we haven’t visited before but my great uncle lives nearby so we met up with them for a delicious Sunday lunch before we began exploring.
We checked into our hotel which was fine and then nipped for a game of bowling (yes we love it!) and grabbed some nibbles for tea.
On Monday, we began by travelling the short distance into town and had a little wander around with our walk ending at Norwich Cathedral which was stunning! We made our voluntary contribution before absorbing all of the history and architecture. There was a lovely volunteer who gave us lots of info about the history of the amazing stained glass windows. Our visit to the cathedral culminated with us having a pit stop in the cafe, which was scrummy!
After this we went to the broads, I’ve always wanted to hire a self drive boat here and we went on an adventure. It was cold, it was February, but we braved it for a few hours and we were rewarded with fun times, laughter, scenery, wildlife and some great shots.
Have you visited this lovely city? What would you recommend we do on our next trip to Norwich?
Happy exploring xo
